‘Emgee’s’ Vegetarian Restaurant, Bangalore

For more vegan-friendly restaurants in Bangalore reviewed in this blog, you can click this link.

Their tagline is “veggie, veggie, healthy”. This restaurant deserves a mention because it is one of the oldest vegetarian restaurants situated in a historical locality of Bangalore city. The restaurant is called Emgee’s and is located in the premises of The Shelton Grand on MG Road. The menu is essentially North Indian, South Indian, and fast-food Chinese. There is a separate counter for fresh fruit juice as well. It is not difficult to find decent Vegan options in the menu; and what is best is that the staff willingly obliges if you request them to cut out the dairy even from the dishes where they include it. For example upon requesting, we got our hara-bhara kebab served to us minus the paneer (cottage cheese), something that they otherwise include in this dish.

Timings: 10:00am to 11:30pm, open all days

Address: 73, MG Road, Next to Gangaram's, Bangalore

Telephone number: 080-40430000

Cost factor: A meal for two costs approximately Rs.300/-

“In fact, dietary protein proved to be so powerful in its effect that we could turn on and turn off cancer growth simply by changing the level consumed. What protein consistently and strongly promoted cancer? Casein, which makes up 87% of cow's milk protein, promoted all stages of the cancer process. What type of protein did not promote cancer, even at high levels of intake? The safe proteins were from plants, including wheat and soy.” '~Dr. T. Colin Campbell, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of Nutritional Biochemistry at Cornell University & Author of 'The China Study'~
